You have 5,000 LEGO in the house. You step on them in the middle of the night. You find pieces in the couch, in the car, under the fridge. The dog chews them. You accidentally vacuum some every week. It's universal in families with 2-3 kids after 5 years of LEGO.

Organizing your LEGO by color: the simple visual method

The most visual system. 10 transparent bins, 1 per main color (red, blue, yellow, green, white, black, gray, beige, brown, others). The child finds their piece in 10 seconds.

For: visual, simple, pleases ADHD kids. Against: if one box falls, drama.

Organizing your LEGO by brick size: the serious builder method

4 bins: large pieces (4×8+), medium (2×4 to 4×4), small (1×2 to 2×2), special (figurines, accessories, wheels). The child finds their piece in 30 seconds.

For: suited to serious builders who follow plans. Against: less visual, requires organization.

Organizing your LEGO by themed box: the collector method

Each themed box stays in its own bin with its instruction booklet. Plus a large common box for free LEGO Classic. The child can rebuild each set whenever they want.
